End-Stage Renal Disease Symptom Checklist - Transplantationsmodul
The ESRD-SCL is a disease-specific self-assessment measure to assess the psychological and physiological quality of life of patients after kidney transplantation with a focus on the side effects of immunosuppressive therapy. It includes the scales: (1) Limited physical performance (10 items), (2) Limited cognitive performance (8 items), (3) Cardiac and renal dysfunction (7 items), (4) Side effects of cortisone intake (5 items), (5) Increased hair and gum growth (5 items), (6) Transplantation related psychological stress (8 items) and (7) Global score (= average of all 43 items). Reliability: The reliability (according to Cronbach's Alpha) lies between Alpha = .76 (scale 3) and Alpha = .97 (scale 1). Validity: The validity was proven by correlations with the SF-36 and sociodemographic as well as clinical variables.
