Verb-Interessentest
Short abstract
The VIT is used for identifying work-related interests in a gender-fair way. Three different construction principles were tested for this purpose. As a result of this process, three test variants are available: "Classical" and "Balanced" based on the classical test theory (KTT), IRT based on differential item functions (DIF). The scales of the VIT with 45 items correspond to the six dimensions of Holland's RIASEC model: (1) realistic, (2) research, (3) artistic, (4) social, (5) entrepreneurial and (6) conventional. Reliability: Reliabilities are available in the form of Cronbach's Alpha (VIT-Classical: Alpha = .83-.91, VIT-Balanced: Alpha = .84-.87) and in the form of Andrich's Reliabilities (VIT-IRT: .66-.85). Validity: Hypothesis-conforming correlations between the VIT and the construct-related procedure General Interest Structure Test (AIST-R) support assumptions on the convergent and discriminant validity of the procedure. The comparison of the fit between individual and subject-specific interests showed both substantial validities and some weaker correlations to fit criteria.
